Creative Content Resources
This index, maintained by California public librarians, provides an authoritative list of free information resources on the Web. The site is organized into 14 main ics (Computers, Government, Science, Reference and others) and 300 related topics (under Reference, you will find Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, and Statistics).
Andrew Vande Moere at the University of Sydney has created a weblog that brings together many examples of information organized in creative visual ways. Examples include: a visualization of the State of the Union Addresses going back to 1790; a visual map of web sites that people visit, New York Times' visual map of stock market activity.
Garr Reynolds's blog addresses a range of issues concerning presentation design and use of visuals. The site is full of resources and answers to questions. See Popular Posts on right side of page. For example: Where do you find good images? and What is good PowerPoint design?
Seattle Public Library Website
The Seattle Public Library provides patrons access to a variety of online databases including: AP Photo Archive, thousands of the wire service's photographs; Onefile and Proquest, two sources for magazine articles on a range of topics; all New York Times articles; and the Oxford English Dictionary.
